Take a Step for Kids 5K/10K Run & 5K Walk

This event is held in April in observance of Child Abuse Prevention Month

Race Location: Independence Grove Forest Preserve

16400 W. Buckley Rd.

Libertyville, IL 60048 

The entrance for Independence Grove is just east of Rt. 21 on Rt. 137 (Buckley Rd.)

Start Line: North Bay Pavilion

Start Time: Runners - 9:00 AM Walkers - 9:15 AM

Water is provided at the start and finish lines plus two on-course locations.

 Split times at miles 1, 2 and 3 for 5K and 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 miles for 10K.

Course: Asphalt with gentle hills and curves. USATF Certification 5K - IL-05019-JW 10K - IL-05018-JW Sorry No Dogs Bikes or Skates are allowed. Baby Strollers out last.

Awards: Medals will be awarded to the overall male and female winners in the 5K & 10K runs, as well as the following age groups: 14 and under: 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 & 70 & older.

All proceeds benefit Community Youth Network which works to preserve and strengthen families, while protecting children from high risk and/or abusive situations. CYN was able to serve 711 client/families last fiscal year. With your help, we have provided hope, healing and wholeness to those impacted by neglect, sexual, physical and emotional abuse.
